| My
Brother, We had both joy and loss this past month. Congratulations first to Bro David Bogard who was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on May 22nd. Congrats also to Bro David Caldwell who was passed to the degree of fellowcraft on June 12th. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ed Styron, Jr. Many of us got to know Ed, share his company and call him friend. He was a frequent visitor to our lodge and the son-in-law of our own Hiram Shearer. You have gone before us into the celestial lodge above, my brother; until we meet again. We rescheduled the Master Mason degree for Bro Bill Mulvaney to Thursday, July 10. 2003. Bro. Mulvaney was to be Raised on May 29th, which evening was also the funeral service for WB Styron. Linwood instead went dark that night. Bro Mulvaney is very excited about becoming a Master Mason, so we are going into July with his degree. Brethren, if you can, please come on down that evening and join us in this once-in-a-lifetime experience for our brother. We had a great time on June 5th welcoming Peter Bronson to the lodge. You may recall that Peter is an editorial writer with the Cincinnati Enquirer. Bro. John Phelps prepared a stick to your ribs meatloaf dinner for all that evening, after which we retired to the lodge room for Peter's presentation. He talked about police and crime in Cincinnati, and the response to both developments from the decision-makers in the city. He then took questions from the audience in what turned out to be a wide-ranging discussion. It was a great time! Thanks to Peter Bronson and to all who were able to attend. Don't forget that we have a fundraiser for the
lodge: we will be working July 4th at Crosley Field in Blue Ash. We
will be working a 4-man booth serving pop from If you can help and I haven't yet called you, please call me, either at the office (245-1000) or at home (859-331-4827). The lodge and I would deeply appreciate your help. We are combing our picnic this summer with Gerard Lodge. There is additional information about the picnic elsewhere in this bulletin, so in this space I will only encourage you to mark the date - July 26th - on your calendar. Have a great summer, my brother. Until next month, my brother. "And someday, many years from now, my brethren, may we look back and say: it is one of my fondest memories."And may God bless, Steven D.
