June/Summer 2004

Hail My Brother,

Well summer is here. I can’t neglect the out side chores any longer. The Lodge is now dark until the Sept. meeting. Our summer picnic will be held at St. Bernard
Ross Park on Saturday, Aug. 21, from 12:30 to 4:00 or later. Stop down and have some fun. The lodge will provide the meat and drinks. Please bring a covered dish or dessert.
We got another petition at the last meeting. We will do the investigation over the summer, and be ready to do the degree work when we come back in September!
My Brother, your lodge NEEDS you!  Have you ever had the thought that someday you would like to be a lodge officer, or learn a charge or lecture, now is the time. Get with me or Sparky and we will get you the material you’ll need and help you study.

Closing thoughts;  I read this in Bits and Pieces the other day...

"When life does get tough and the crisis is undeniable at hand, when we must,  in an instant, look inward for strength of character to see us through, we will find nothing inside ourselves that we have not
already put there.

                                  40th   President Ronald Reagan

I am so glade our fraternity nurtures the "strength of character" that each of us needs in our lives. So, when we do look inward, we find the "strength of character" to do what is right, fair, and just.

My Brother, I know the demands on our time are great, and I am asking for just a little more... Our Lodge cannot survive without you and your participation.
My challenge to you, is for you to come to the Sept. stated meeting and the next Entered Apprentice degree.  We NEED you, or I am afraid we run the terrible risk
of fading away like so many other lodges.
Call or email me... It’s always good to hear from a friend, especially a brother.

Until next month ……  have a safe summer!

"May God bless You and keep You, May He make his face to shine upon You and be gracious unto You, And may God grant unto You, his peace. In Your going out and Your coming in, in Your lying down and in Your raising up, in Your labor and in Your leisure, in Your laughter and in Your tears, Until You come to stand before Him in that day in which there is no sunset and no dawning."
