NOVEMBER 2004
John's last message as Worshipful Master

Hail, My Brother,

I sit at my desk writing this a couple of days before the Stated Meeting and Election of Officers.  My thoughts wander and I begin reminiscing about the past year an everything that has gone on. The installation of Officers,  marching in the Shrine circus, our inspection to our summer picnic.  My recent trip to Grand Lodge to this very point in time.
It has been a fun year for me.  Working with the membership, officers, and past masters.  We had some successes, winning a few awards in the district.  We fixed some old equipment and replaced some other.  We made some charitable contributions, thanks to the membership.  Your donated dollars helps the Lodge in soooo many ways.  Your donations do not go unnoticed and are very needed.
Thank you again.
To the Officers, thank you for the support you gave me all year.  When the Master can count on the other officers it makes a world of difference.  To the Past Masters, thank you for the wise and timely advice whispered in my ears.   To the membership, thank you for allowing me to serve you this year.
This coming year I’ll be the in the galley cooking up some snacks for you after the meetings and special events. If you can, stop down and join us.  I’ll tell you all my sea stories and we can reminisce about days gone by.  I have some good ones and I’ll bet you do too!

It’s always good to hear from a friend, especially a brother.   So for the last time:
May God bless You and keep You, May He make his face to shine upon
You and be gracious unto You, And may God grant unto You, his peace. In Your going out and Your coming in, in Your lying down and in Your raising up, in Your labor and in Your leisure, in Your laughter and in Your tears, Until You come to stand before Him in that day in which there is no sunset and no dawning.

 ATTENTION ON DECK!!

A new Master is about to take the helm.  I wish him calm seas and a good breeze to sail by.
Until we meet again my brother.....
